I am a former high school runner from Wisconsin. After five WIAA Division I state appearances in cross country and track, I was faced with a career ending automobile accident my senior year - shattering my femur and having it reconstructed via a plate and 14 screws. I started bodybuilding and added as much as 100 lbs to my frame. After a 23-year hiatus from running, in 2011 I began training and racing once again as a competitive "Super Clydesdale" runner - runners over 225 lbs.
